What Are Some Common Uses Of The Procedure?

Shoulder, elbow, wrist, hand, hip, foot, and ankle disorders.

How Should I Prepare For The Procedure?

You should wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing for your Ultrasound exam. No other preparation is required.

Who Interprets The Results And How Do I Get Them?

Our technical director Michael Jablon, RMST, a musculoskeletal Ultrasound Expert with over 25 year’s experience, will analyze the images and send a signed report with his or her interpretation to the patient’s personal physician. The personal physician’s office will inform the patient on how to obtain their results.

What Does MSK Do?

Ultrasound allows us to view body parts in motion. Because of this advantage, The Center for Musculoskeletal Ultrasound can visualize your joints and soft tissue in detail, into the “cracks and crevices” of the joint, exposing the smallest, most hidden problems.

My Doctor Said My X-Ray Is Normal Would Ultrasound Be Able To Show More Detail?

X-ray is excellent for examining bones but not soft tissue, tendons, ligaments, nerves and cartilage.  Many soft tissue injuries are missed by X-ray.  Ultrasound visualizes soft tissues with amazing detail.

Is Ultrasound Safe?

There has never been a reported side effect from diagnostic ultrasound, it uses no radiation and can be used for patients with metal implants, pacemakers and pregnancy.
